My response to the article by Ranjini Haridas

This is my response to this article by Renjini Haridas

രഞ്ജിനി ഹരിദാസിന് ഒരു തുറന്ന കത്ത്
Ranjini has been anchoring this show for the past 5 years. That means she has been in Kerala AT LEAST for these 5 years. Considering her job, that of an anchor in a reality show for Keralites, in a purely Malayalam channel, she should have the professionalism to use proper Malayalam words with the correct pronunciation and diction. If she had done that, THAT would've shown her professionalism and her dedication for the job she does.

If she was a professional, she would've took the comments made by Jagathy Sreekumar in the right sense and worked on her Malayalam. And if she is a confident person who is fully aware of others' and her rights (as she mentions in her article), then where is the need for her article in her first place? She is aware of Jagathy's rights, she's aware of her rights. Then why does she have to elaborate on her stance through that article?

The very fact that Ranjini addresses Jagathy as Mr. Moon (come on, who is she trying to fool?) shows that she is immature to handle such a situation. Jagathy wouldn't have cared less if she has named him. If she was so secure about her professionalism, her self-confidence and thick rhino skin, then she could've just narrated the incident frankly and made her stance clear. She needn't have sent hidden attacks at Jagathy using phrases like "I was the victim of an individual who took advantage of his right to freedom of speech to publicly embarrass and ridicule me", "some slanderous statements made by a man pining for attention", "only thing achieved was some cheap publicity and the loss of respect".

Ranjini, go through the social networking sites and read through the comments for this incident. See what people think of it. The show is not a success because of your anchoring and your impeccable language. It is a success only because Keralites love music. And they don't have a better option available now. Wait until something better comes up. Then, you can see how even your boldness, rhino thick hide and freedom of expression can't save the show and Asianet.
